Special Day for MyCraftShop

Today is a very special day as it marks the first day MyCraftShop walked out from the online space to a bricks-and-mortar store!

Yes! MyCraftShop now is selling in one of the lockers at Hako. Hako is located at level 3 of Tampines 1 (opposite Tampines MRT Station).

 



This is definitely a bold step for MyCraftShop after having a long presence in the online space.

There will not be any change in the services MyCraftShop provide. The locker at Hako will allow all interested to have a physical feel of My Craft Shop's items. Customization of gift items are still available online or via email.

Simple Bookmark

3 years ago, a very devastating event happened in my life.

6 years ago, a very upsetting event happened.

I lost all hope.

My dad was first diagnosed with cancer. My heart dropped.
Many times I cried my heart out each time he goes into the hospital. But he was a fighter. A strong man. 
He's the HERO of my life.

I will never forget the sleepless night I had in the hospital with him, the jokes he made with me, sharing a drink at 3am in the morning, the morning talk we had.. Does he know he's going away? These intimate memories, are something that are so mine and things I will never forget.

Daddy,
I know its time.
I know you have gone far.
Wherever you are,
I love you very much.
I miss you very much...

Simple hairband

July is a month of celebration.

It's my birthday, my love's birthday, my niece - Kyra's birthday, close friends' birthday etc.. isn't it a month of celebration?

I handmade a simple hairband for my niece.

A conversation between my niece and me.
K: "gu gu joyce", where did you buy the hairband?
J: You like the hair band?
K: I like it very much. Where did you buy the hairband? Can you buy more? I want to give to my sister.
J: I handmade the hairband for you.
K: Wow! I love it!

A simple conversation that brightens my day..

Did I tell you she's my youngest fan? :)
She was a fan of my creations ever since I started. My first fan and also my youngest supporter. :)

LOVE

Hi!

Today I'm sharing with you one of the latest creation I designed on a wooden block: LOVE.

It's a wooden "LOVE" block that I painted in baby sweet pink. Added some of my favourites like ribbons, birds, flowers, muscial notes, butterflies and laces. A beautiful decorative item on every girl's table.

It's yet the time of the year where I will take a short break from scrapbooking, from work etc.

It's my birthday week.
Not that I will be celebrating the whole week, so don't mistaken when I say I going to take a short break.
I just want to spend quality time with my mum and love ones, not think about work, not think about scrapbooking, but just time with them. :)

Eden style name card holder

Ooops, was that a month ago since I last blog? :(

My work has taken over my life in June, seriously.
Dadlines, meetings, deadlines, meetings... Enough of that..

After a long hiatus in scrapbooking, I altered this namecard holder..
It holds all types of name cards and are just perfect on every office table, don't you think so?

The flowers were meant to match the "blue-yellow" bird.. Can you see the little bird nest sitting below the bird? I added a small clip in the middle of the box. Thinking of creating a name tag to sit on the box, what do you think?

Standing Frame

Hi,

Amongst the engagements, I decorated this [black and white] standing frame.

This is a standing frame for 2 photos.

How it works? The photos are inserted through the top, and cover the "black" area on both sides.

Would you believe that this was a black and white frame originally? Currently, this standing frame sits beautifully on my table... Hee...

Fulfilling 2 weeks

Hi Hi,

How's your week?

I had 2 fulfulling weeks, really.

The first week, I had 2 different classes. One is to teach students from a local school, and the other working adults, in that same week. It was a totally new experience for me, especially with the class of students. These students will in turn teach the "not so priviledged" kids, what they have learnt from me.. hmm.. I will be there to see the "teaching" process, we will see how from there...

The second class with the working adults, before the class, I was told to give out some feedback forms and in my mind, I was feeling jittery. At the end of the class, I collected back the feedback form and I read those feedback forms. Some of the comments were for the class, some on the materials, some on the teacher.. Hmmm... comments about the teacher... I felt the sense of "teaching" satisfaction (when they left the class with the smiley face and item).

This is a big step for myself in terms of my interest for scrapbooking. (never in my wildest dreams..)

The second week, I was asked by my good friend - Corrine, on the charity event that she participating in. I wanted to join hand-in-hand with her, but things didn't turn out.

Well, I had another chance. This is the Citi-YMCA Youth for Causes Social Enterprise Programme 2012 where My Craft Shop will be one of the sponsors. How FANTASTIC can that be? The team is helping Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), one of the VWOs listed.

It's a fulfilling 2 weeks of May. I hope My Craft Shop can participate in more charity events. :)

Celebrate LOVE

HELLO!!

How's your Labour Day PH?

Over the weekend, I was packing my scrap area and chanced upon this wooden box.. and as you may have guessed it, I was eagerly decorating this box on Labour Day!

Can you see that its a wooden box? I misted the box slightly, a mixture of Red, Yellow and Green (something that I learnt from a very talented lady - Jasmine..)

The words in the box read: "Love makes life beautiful" and "Celebrate LOVE"! Don't you think life's colourful and bright with love? Lets celebrate LOVE this month, with MOTHER's DAY coming!!!
